“ A very duck focused restaurant which I always love, and I specifically went here to take my girlfriend out since she's a huge fan of ducks. We made a reservation over a month out and surprised to find only the 9pm slot was available, but fortunately it was for the kitchen counter which is a great experience. We were able to see the cooks making various dishes and impressed by their speed and execution. We got the foie gras dumplings, a steam burger, oeufs en mayonnaise, duck stack, and red velvet Paris-Brest. The foie gras dumplings were phenomenal - very rich inside balancing with a chicken noodle soup broth and cooked to just al dente. If it weren't for the price tag I'd have gotten seconds! The steam burger is pretty good - the patty is grilled and then they assemble the burger with cheese which is then steamed to make the buns soft and cheese melted. It's a bit like classic American burger but I still liked it. Oeufs en mayonnaise is good - the eggs are cooked perfectly and there's trout roe and bacon bits. I'm not a fan of mayonnaise but I still enjoyed the dish. Duck stack is a very involved dish with pancakes, caramelized onion, grounded duck, and maple syrup. We watched the dish preparation and was impressed by how much work it took to prepare the dish. It's a more unique dish out of the menu. For dessert, we got the red velvet Paris-Brest that has just the right amount of sweetness and nicely presented. This was honestly the only thing on the dessert menu that stood out and it was a good choice to get it. The server is nice and attentive, recommending us great wines to pair and delivering food and fulfilling requests in a timely manner. ”
“ My sister and I were celebrating, sat ourselves at the chefs counter, ate small plates, and watched the chefs work their magic. We were so caught up in our revelry and the beauty of the preparation that we made ourself late to an appointment. We caught ourselves rushing out before we got to watch them make our dessert (to go). It was quite the experience and I cannot wait to return. ”
“ If you're looking for a modern-French-twist restaurant, this will be up your alley. Sister dinner here with a cozy, dark, intimate setting good service, and we had a good time. We ordered a number of things: Baguette, Duck "Spam" Musubi, Roasted Pear Salad, Beers Au Gratin, Foie Gras Dumplings, and Roasted Maitake Mushroom Cocktail Menu was decent, but I did not get a fancy for anything they had. French Baguette was cold and did not taste "fresh." Overall, I would say most of the dishes were good/decent; the flavor combos they had for the dishes just weren't my jam, but the dishes were enjoyable. ”
“ This place is perfect! The servers and the bartender were spectacular women! Drinks perfect. This is a small intimate venue that felt safe and comfortable. Now the food!!! We shared plates and everything was an OMG moment. The dumplings and that juice was the best of the best. I recommend trying some small plates to share. They also plan it perfect so we only had o e plate at a time as we shared and when we finished one the next was there. The cooking times are something else chefs so hats off to you! If you don't have a reservation I would get there at 4 when they open. I'm an early eater so it's perfect to drop in. ”
“ My friend and I came here in November to treat ourselves to a little birthday dinner and we had a lovely time. You have to order the duck frites, it's a must. The foie gras dumplings were also unreal. The service was great. We sat at the counter and got to see the chefs in action which is always fun. This is a great spot for a date or a nice dinner with a friend. ”
“ Due to visiting for the weekend and wanting to fit in numerous restaurants/places, we booked this place for a quick bite and a drink. We got there at 5 and it was pretty empty, but started to bustle around 5:30. We only ordered a couple items: oeufs en mayonnaise, foie gras dumplings, garlic fries, and two steam burgers. The oeufs were soft-ish boiled and with all the extras, the dish had plenty of texture and flavor. I do wish the eggs were warmed while eating (they were cooler than room temp), but overall it was good. The foie gras dumplings had a different flavor than I expected. The broth was sweeter than I would have liked (had what I thought were hints of nutmeg), but I did appreciate the pomegranate seeds on top to give additional texture. The dumplings had a great flavor. The garlic fries weren't real garlicky, but had a chermoula sauce to them. I'm not real sure how I feel about the chermoula sauce as it completely altered the taste of the fries. IMO, the fries would have tasted better if they were served with an aioli vs ketchup. The steam burgers reminded me of a smash burger with mustard + caramelized onion on a steamed bun. They were good for what they were. Overall, the dishes had flavor, texture, etc., but I felt like some of them were overly complex than they needed to be. Then again, that's likely what they were going for. This is a quaint place with a good vibe to visit. They had a large wine list to choose from. ”
“ Canard was hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to all year. Everything about the experience was incredible. The dining room was small, dark, and intimate, which was very romantic. Our server was so lovely and had the best recommendations for food, wine, and even where to get drinks after dinner. We were new to both tartare and fois gras but we felt both were essential to order. The fois gras had a pho like broth served on top that just tickled my taste buds. I wanted to order this again but was too full. The duck frites were perfection, and the sliders hit the spot. We were SO glad we ordered the caramel apple pie sundae and the duty chai dessert-- both were delicious. Our wine pairing was fantastic as well. Thank you Canard for such a lovely dinner experience!! I can't wait to come back! ”
“ Top notch. Duck "Musubi" with foie gras was delectable. Market greens salad was on point, if a little overdressed (a tad too much oil), it still balanced out the richness of the musubi quite well. I finished with the sweet potato mochi, which is served with butter braised kale. Service was very attentive and fast. I had an NA IPA (Athletic Run Wild), which went well with the good. Ambiance is super chic. Many couples on dates. The guy next to me sounded like such a blowhard it made me glad I was eating solo. ”
“ We had a lovely meal at Canard. The foie gras dumplings= chefs kiss. I do not love goat cheeses much but the goat Gouda was perfect in the roasted pear salad. The duck stack was a good combo of salty, sweet, and savory flavors. Great service too! “ I thought this place was good, but not great. Heartless Rita - amazing mocktail Roasted Pear Salad - pretty solid appetizer Foie Gras Dumplings - again I thought they were good but not out of this world like so many people said Albacore Au Poivre - unique dish I had never had before but enjoyed I read so many amazing reviews about this place so maybe it was just overhyped to me. I thought the service was fantastic though, they seated us quickly when we came early for a reservation, had a birthday note for me upon being seated, and candle for me with my dessert. ”
